Pundit issues ‘scary’ Man City claim after latest development
Saturday’s (22 October) win over Brighton proved why Man City will win the Premier League title this season.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the weekend’s results.
Man City beat Brighton 3-1 on Saturday (22 October) though the visitors caused plenty of problems for the home side.
As per BBC Sport, the Seagulls enjoyed 52% of the possession through the game compared to City’s 48%.
On Sunday (23 October), title rivals Arsenal dropped points on the South coast, drawing 1-1 with Southampton.
McManus insists these results prove why City will finish the season on top.
“Erling Haaland and Manchester City, what can we say, that win was phenomenal,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“Brighton went to the Etihad to win, make no mistake about that and that has to be admired. But when Haaland is in there, City are just going to win.
“It’s scary. That’s the difference for me. You see Arsenal going away to Southampton and getting frustrated and drawing, that won’t happen when City play the same games.
“They are just on another level. You could argue that City went to Newcastle and drew 3-3 but Newcastle are a different beast this season.
“Arsenal will struggle when they go up there. So, for me, it’s still Man City and this weekend proved why I think they will win the title.”

Erling Haaland scored a brace and Kevin De Bruyne scored the other in the 3-1 win over the Seagulls.
City return to Premier League action next weekend against Leicester City (29 October).
