Pundit issues ‘terrible’ claim after ‘£75m’ Chelsea-Wesley Fofana update

Leicester City are in a “complete and utter mess” with Wesley Fofana set to join Chelsea.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Fofana, 21, has been heavily pursued by Chelsea all summer with the club seeing several bids knocked back already.

On Saturday (27 August), Fabrizio Romano reported a £75million deal has now been agreed between the Foxes and Chelsea with less than a week remaining of the summer transfer window.

Wenham is concerned for Leicester as one of their key players looks set to leave after a poor start to the season.

“They have had some terrible, terrible results,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Leicester are a complete and utter mess. They lost at home to Southampton last week and they are a terrible side.

“If you are losing to them, dear me. Rodgers is under a lot of pressure already, for me. There have been no singings, it looks like Fofana might go as well.

“They have barely any time to replace him if he does go so that is far from ideal for them. There just seems to be a real negative energy around the club at the moment.

“This is a club who were in the Champions League not so long ago, now look at them. They need to pick up some results quickly and hope they can hold onto players like Fofana for another season.”

Fofana joined Leicester from Saint-Etienne in October 2020.

He has made 52 total appearances for the club.

In other news, ‘devastated’ Harry Maguire could now join Chelsea after some ‘shattering’ news, according to one pundit.
