Pundit issues ‘unbelievable’ Arsenal claim after Emile Smith Rowe training ground update
Alan Hutton has said it is a “real shame” that Emile Smith Rowe will be sidelined for Arsenal until December.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa right-back said being injured is the “worst thing as a footballer”.
On 29 September, the club confirmed that the 22-year-old has had surgery to repair a damaged tendon in his groin.
The Gunners are hopeful that the midfielder will return to full training in December.
The England international suffered an injury setback against Man United on 4 September after several months of discomfort in his groin.
Hutton insisted Smith Rowe will be upset at having miss out on game time.
“It’s the worst thing as a footballer,” he told Football Insider.
“The worst thing possible is being injured and not being able to play.
“For me, he went off the ball a little bit but I think he has been masking this injury. He’s maybe been playing with it for a number of months and that is why he has not hit the levels that we have seen before.

“Of course, Arsenal are doing unbelievably well at this moment in time, they are sitting at the top of the league and you want to be involved in that.
“So it is a real shame for a young player to have to go through this injury at this moment in time. But he will come back stronger, that I am sure of.“
