Pundit issues ‘unbelievable’ Newcastle United claim after ‘big blow’

The return of Bruno Guimaraes and Callum Wilson to the Newcastle United starting XI will seal victory against Fulham.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Magpies’ injury problems.

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s (1 October) game against Fulham, as quoted by the Newcastle United Twitter account, Howe has confirmed Callum Wilson and Bruno Guimaraes are fit to start.

The Toon boss also confirmed a late fitness check will be made on Allan Saint-Maximin while Alexander Isak will miss the game after picking up an injury while on international duty.

Kenny insists Newcastle can come away from the “tough game” at Craven Cottage with all three points now their key players have returned.

“Fulham have been on fire this season, it’s a tough game for Newcastle,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“It’s a very important game now after only picking up one win this season. They have only lost once as well so it is not a bad start.

“But they miss Wilson so much, his presence is irreplaceable. Isak is the new signing but he hasn’t adapted yet and he doesn’t know the league.

“Wilson will know how to upset those Fulham defenders and he will cause them problems. Bruno, what more can you say, the guy is unbelievable so to have him in there is always a boost.

“Newcastle need to get a win on the board and you would back them to do so this weekend in fairness.

It is a big blow to have the other lads missing but they should have enough to win.”
