Pundit issues verdict on Chris Wood re-signing for Leeds – ‘this may come as a surprise’
Newcastle United striker Chris Wood will snub a January move to Leeds United if an offer comes in.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Leeds’ hunt for a new striker.
On Saturday (3 December), sources told this site that the Whites are weighing up a January bid for the 31-year-old.

Leeds are in the market for a new striker to provide an alternative to Rodrigo Moreno and Patrick Bamford.
Wood has made 16 appearances in all competitions this season though only four of those have been from the start.
McManus claims Wood may prefer to stay at Newcastle even if he is guaranteed to start at Elland Road.
“On the face of it, it’s a deal that works for everyone,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“Wood would go down to Leeds and probably be the first-choice striker there. Bamford is never fit these days.
“They have some very quick, young attackers there and Wood could just sit in there and hold it up, it could work really well.
“That being said, Wood has spent his entire career fighting in relegation fights. Now he is at a club that is going places.
“Newcastle are fighting at the top of the table and that must be a nice change for Wood. He looks settled in Newcastle.

“He will be getting a great wage and he is usually good for a goal if you really need him.
“This might come as a surprise but I don’t see Newcastle selling him.”
