Pundit lambasts ‘big names’ causing Man United dressing room after Times update

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team selection is the root cause of the dressing room unrest at Man United.

That is the view of ex-Premier League striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the growing pressure on the 48-year-old.

According to The Times‘ James Ducker (25th October), members of the Old Trafford dressing room are turning on their manager.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Man United

It is said that they are losing faith in Solskjaer’s ability to take the club forward following a run which has yielded just two wins in seven across all competitions.

However, the board are sticking with their under-fire manager ahead of this weekend’s trip to Tottenham.

When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on the dressing room unrest, Campbell said: “The problem is, there are big names sitting on the bench at United.

“There are players who the club have spent a lot of money on not playing, the likes of Donny van de Beek and Jadon Sancho.

“They will be thinking, ‘Can we be much worse than players on the pitch.’ That can cause unrest.

“It is all wrong, especially in the centre of the pitch. Even Paul Pogba was on the bench. What is going on? You’ve got world-class players who aren’t playing.

“Solskjaer is going to get questioned. The hierarchy might want to stick with him but if this keeps up the inevitable will happen.”
