Pundit lambasts ‘dreadful’ Rodrigo as Leeds controversy analysed

Arsenal will not win the Premier League this season after securing another “lucky” win thanks to the “dreadful” Rodrigo.

That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Arsenal maintained their four-point lead at the top of the Premier League by beating Leeds United 1-0 at Elland Road on Sunday (16 October).

The Gunners have won nine of their 10 Premier League games this season with their only loss coming at the hands of Man United at Old Trafford.

Wenham insists this loss is a sign that Arsenal’s string start to the season will not continue.

“Arsenal have played one tricky game this season and they lost,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“The next two are against Southampton and Forest so I fully expect them to pick up another six points. They will maybe go to the World Cup with a comfortable lead at the top.

“Their demise in the second half of the season will be all the more sweeter. They were so lucky against Leeds.

“Leeds missed a penalty and Rodrigo played a dreadful ball straight to Saka who went on to score. Then there was a red card and penalty that were overturned.

“They have been good this season but they haven’t played anyone who has challenged them and when they did, they lost.”

Arsenal

Arsenal are next in action against PSV on Thursday (20 October).

They then return to Premier League action against Southampton on Sunday (23 October).
