Pundit lambasts Erik ten Hag blunder amid ‘heated’ Man United dressing room reveal
Alan Hutton has insisted Man United boss Erik ten Hag should have let his players cool down before holding an inquest into the loss against Man City.
The former Tottenham and Scotland defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed he has been in dressing rooms where things have become “heated very quickly”.
Man United were humiliated in a 6-3 away defeat at rivals Man City earlier this month (2 October), ending their run of four consecutive wins in the Premier League.

According to The Sun (8 October), Ten Hag called his players in a day after the loss to demand a one-by-one explanation for each of their mistakes.
The report claims passions “boiled over” during the meeting, with stars Scott McTominay and Lisandro Martinez believed to be among the most vocal.
Man United have since returned to winning ways with a hard-fought victory over Everton on Sunday (9 October).
Hutton suggested some stars may have felt like teammates were “blaming” them for the derby loss against City.
He told Football Insider: “I’ve been in dressing rooms where this has happened before.
“The manager goes through all the players and makes sure they sort it out themselves.
“The problem is that it’s an emotional game and things can get heated very quickly.
“Especially when it feels like there are other players in the team who are blaming you.
“I think the best thing to do when you’re going down that route is maybe to leave it until a couple of days after the game when you’re analysing it.
“Then you can talk through it when everyone’s calm and go through it in the right way.

“Things can turn very quickly when you’re emotional after a game, I’ve seen it happen.
“It’s not ideal right after a game, but it can work.”
