Pundit lambasts Man United after transfer latest

Man United have not improved under Erik ten Hag and could get worse.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Red Devils’ summer business.

Man United began their 2022-2023 Premier League season with a 2-1 home loss to Brighton on Sunday (7 August).

Ten Hag has brought Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez and Christian Eriksen to the club this summer.

Martinez and Eriksen started against Brighton though the former failed to impress up against Danny Welbeck and the latter was forced to play as a striker.

Kenny claims Man United are yet to make any improvements compared to last season.

“Man United have just stayed the same, they have not improved, and for a club of that size, that’s a disgrace,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Whether they can still get some players in I don’t know, there is still plenty of time. It’s going to be tough.

“I think they have stayed exactly where they are, no improvement. It’s exactly the same as last season.

“I think they are in for a long old season. Then if Ronaldo goes or he doesn’t play as much because he isn’t in the manager’s plans, they lose his goals.

“It could get worse. Only time will tell.”

Ronaldo appeared as a second-half substitute against Brighton but was unable to affect the outcome of the game.

Man United are next in action against Brentford on Saturday (13 August).
