Pundit lambasts Richarlison as Tottenham footage emerges on Sky
Frank McAvennie has claimed Richarlison was “disrespectful” as Tottenham took on Nottingham Forest on Sunday (28 August).
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker said Antonio Conte will “have a word” with the 25-year-old.
As shown on Sky Sports (28 August), the Brazil international began showboating by doing keepy uppys late in the second half of Spurs’ 2-0 win over Forest.
The forward was wiped out by Brennan Johnson who earned himself a booking in the process.
Richarlison started on the bench for Conte’s side.
He replaced Son Heung-Min for the final 15 minutes of the game and provided the assist for Harry Kane’s second goal.
When asked for his assessment of Richarlison’s behaviour, McAvennie told Football Insider: “It’s disrespectful.
“Conte won’t be happy with it. You can’t do that. It’s showing off and it’s being disrespectful. I would’ve wiped him out as well, I’ve not got a problem with Johnson doing that.
“Sometimes you see players showing off and being disrespectful. Once when I was playing and it was 8-0 and one of the players was showing off, the manager just took him off.

“They’re wanting them to score as many goals as they can but it’s so disrespectful. The manager will have a word with him and say don’t do that again. If somebody was coming through him and winding him up all game I could understand it, but he wasn’t playing all game.
“It’s disrespectful but good fun for the fans. He’ll [Richarlison] have no problems with somebody taking him out, he’ll know he was getting it.“
