Pundit laments ‘bad news’ after ‘shocking’ Everton discovery
Everton need to pray there are three Premier League teams worse than them as they face a rough end to the season.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the club’s chances of being relegated.
Everton lost 5-0 to Tottenham on Monday (7 March) though it was the manner of the defeat that had fans worried.
Everton offered nothing in attack, failing to register a shot on goal, as per BBC Sport.
Having looked at their “rough” run-in, Kenny admitted he doesn’t fancy Frank Lampard’s side to beat anyone.
“I’ve been looking at Everton’s run in, it’s bad news, isn’t it,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“They have some really good teams before the end of the season but let’s be honest, you don’t fancy them against anyone at the moment.
“Wolves, Newcastle, West Ham, Man United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Leicester, Arsenal, that is rough.
“I don’t think they will lose all of them, Everton do have quality players so you would think they might get one or two wins.
“But they have been so bad and at this point, I think they are just hoping there are three teams worse than them.
“That’s not good enough for Everton. Lampard really has his work cut out.
“They need wins quickly, just to stop the rot. They haven’t had a new manager bounce.
“Some of those players need to wake up because they have been shocking.”

Everton are next in action against Wolves on Sunday (13 March).
They then welcome high-flying Newcastle to Goodison on Thursday (17 March).
