Pundit ‘laughing’ at Aaron Mooy as Celtic footage emerges

Alan Hutton has claimed Willie Collum was right not to punish Aaron Mooy for their coming together when Celtic faced Livingston on Sunday (30 October).

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Rangers defender said the incident made him laugh but insisted it was not intentional and didn’t warrant a card.

As shown on Sky Sports (30 October), Aaron Mooy clattered into the referee trying to chase down a loose ball following a Celtic clearance.

Play was allowed to continue and Collum appeared to laugh off the coming together with the Australian.

The Hoops went on to win the game 3-0.

Hutton insisted it was the right decision to let Mooy go without punishment.

These things happen,” he told Football Insider.

You see it quite a lot actually. The referee is trying to get right in the middle of the play, the players are trying to run back or get a tackle in and it happens.

You are not going to get booked for that unless it was intentional. I do not think that was. It was a coming together.

“It made me laugh do not get me wrong. But I do not think you are going to see yellow cards for that unless it is deliberate but it did not look that way.

Celtic

Mooy has made 18 appearances for the Celts so far this season since his arrival in the summer.

In those outings he has provided three assists.
