Pundit makes ‘big’ Arsenal claim after confirmed news – ‘it is gone’

Alan Hutton has claimed Arsenal have a “big” job on their hands to overtake Man City at the top of the table.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender urged the Gunners to forget about the weekend’s VAR antics and focus on their upcoming games.

Mikel Arteta’s side were let down by VAR against Brentford at the weekend after human error failed to disallow Ivan Toney’s equaliser for offside.

Although the PGMOL have apologised to the London club, as quoted by the Daily Mail (14 February), Arteta said he will only be “satisfied” if they give the two points lost back to his side.

And the misery didn’t end for Arsenal who have slipped to second place in the Premier League after a 3-1 defeat to Man City on Wednesday (15 February).

Hutton insisted the Gunners have to keep moving forward.

It was a shocking decision,” he told Football Insider.

I think there was a few of them at the weekend. Yes they will be disappointed, of course they want the points.

It is that tight at the top at this moment in time but they have to move on. They have to set it to one side. It is gone, they are never getting the points back.

Up against Man City they were unfortunate to lose the game but this is the pressure they are under now. Everything has been rosy up until this moment in time, they have had a healthy lead.

Man City were going to come back at some point so this is obviously seeing if they can handle the pressure. They have not been there before, Man City have. The next game is the big one and I think that is the way they have to focus.”

In other news, according to sources, Arsenal have set their sights on Marcus Rashford amid ‘huge’ Arteta reveal.
