Pundit makes ‘big’ Chelsea claim after journalist’s Hakim Ziyech update

Alan Hutton has insisted Chelsea will need to lose players this month.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa right-back said Hakim Ziyech could be one of the players to go.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano (23 January), the Blues are set to discuss bids for the 29-year-old, with many clubs keen on signing him before the end of the window.

Both foreign clubs and other Premier League sides are said to be interested in the midfielder whose current deal runs until 2025.

According to The Telegraph (16 January), Newcastle United are one of the English clubs plotting a move for the Morocco international this month.

When asked if Ziyech will be keen to stay in the Premier League, Hutton told Football Insider:I still believe it is the best league in the world.

There are so many strong teams and they are just getting stronger.

You see the amount of money that is being spent in the January window by the Premier League compared to all the other top clubs, it does not even come close.

It is where everybody wants to be so I would not be surprised if he did go to the likes of Newcastle.

The one thing from Chelsea is that I believe they are going to have to move players on. They have such a big squad now and they are continuing to add to it so there is going to have to be movement somewhere.

In other news, according to sources, Newcastle United advance on talks to sign Anthony Gordon but wary of Chelsea.
