Pundit predicts Arsenal ‘downfall’ as ‘massive’ injury claim made

Arsenal are one or two injuries away from ruining their impressive start to the season.

That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Arsenal returned to the top of the Premier League with a hard-fought win over Liverpool on Sunday (9 October).

A Gabriel Martinelli goal and a Bukayo Saka brace saw the Gunners win 3-2 despite being pegged back by the visitors on two occasions.

Arsenal have now won eight of their nine Premier League games this season, no side in the division has won as many.

However, Wenham claims a packed fixture list could prove a problem for Mikel Arteta’s men.

“Arsenal are on a really good run at the moment, obviously they lost at Old Trafford,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“They have won every other fixture though and they will hope they can continue to do that. I feel like they haven’t got a massive squad so injuries will affect them really badly.

“They will just have to hope that they can keep everybody fit even though they are playing three times a week.

“I feel like that could be their downfall. The Liverpool win was a huge result for them and they are now 13 points above Liverpool already.

“You would not have predicted that at the start of the season.

Arsenal are next in action against Bodo/Glimt on Thursday (13 October).

They then return to league action against Leeds United on Sunday (16 October).
