Pundit reveals what ‘everyone is asking’ about Dele Alli after Everton source’s termination reveal

Alan Hutton is worried “the only way is down” for Everton outcast Dele Alli.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender said Alli will need to do “a lot of soul searching” over the coming months to decide what is best for his future.

The 26-year-old is currently on loan at Besiktas after joining on a season-long deal in August.

But the midfielder has made just 14 appearances for the Turkish club this season and is now said to have been banished from the first team by head coach Senol Gunes.

On 16 March, Football Insider revealed that Alli’s loan deal will not be made permanent this summer and the Toffees are also increasingly likely to terminate his contract.

When asked what went wrong for Alli, Hutton told Football Insider:I think a lot of people that are asking that at this moment in time.

Too much too soon? I do not know. Only he will be able to answer that.

I think he had a great break out season where he scored 20-odd goals and then he just never really hit those heights again.

There was probably a lot of pressure on him to get back to those numbers and the way he was playing did not quite reach it.

But it has just not quite worked out for him for whatever reason. It is going to be difficult for him moving forward because where does he go now?

You look at some of the managers he has played under, you would have thought the Frank Lampard would have been able to get the best out of him.

He is going to have to do a lot of soul searching moving forward because at this moment in time the only was is down.
