Pundit salutes ‘brilliant news for Leeds’ after new Raphinha update
Kevin Campbell has claimed Leeds United “would really struggle” without the influence of Raphinha as his contract talks continue.
The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, hailed the 25-year-old’s “unbelievable ability”.
According to the Athletic’s Phil Hay (19 January), Raphinha is “prepared to sign” a new contract with Leeds United – with the Whites “hopeful of bringing negotiations to a positive conclusion before the month is out”.

Speaking last week (14 January) about the opening of discussions and quoted by the Independent, manager Marcelo Bielsa insisted the club had made a “great decision”.
Campbell suggested Raphinha is the player who makes Leeds United “tick”.
“He is a sweet player, brilliant,” Campbell told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“He’ll be a lot of neutral fans’ favourite Leeds player. He’s clearly got unbelievable ability and he’s that real catalyst for Leeds now.
“He’s the player that makes them tick. Without him, Leeds would really struggle.
“It’s brilliant news for Leeds that he could sign a new deal this month.”
Football Insider revealed last year (13 October) that Raphinha is one of three Leeds United stars on the radar of Liverpool after “blowing away” top Anfield talent-spotters.
The Porto Alegre-born star’s Elland Road contract runs until the end of the 2023/24 campaign.
Raphinha made his Brazil bow in October 2021 after an impressive start to the season.
The winger netted two Selecao goals and assisted two more in the space of a week after his international debut.

The 25-year-old has scored eight goals and turned provider for two more for Leeds United in the Premier League this term.
Raphinha signed for the Whites from Rennes for a reported £17m in 2020.
