Pundit sends Harvey Elliott warning after ‘big’ Liverpool news – ‘that needs to stop’

Harvey Elliott will thrive at Liverpool if he continues to be given first-team chances.

That is according to Spurs insider and youth football expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

On Thursday (11 August), Liverpool announced Elliott, 19, has signed a new deal with terms running until the summer of 2027.

The youngster has featured in both of the Reds’ opening two Premier League games and started as his side drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace on Monday (15 August).

Speaking to the official Liverpool site after signing his new deal, the boyhood Red admitted he wants to end his career at Anfield.

Wenham admits he is a fan of Eliott’s footballing ability even though he has issues with his off-field actions.

“I’m not a massive fan of Harvey Elliot as a person,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I remember there were special media posts mocking Harry Kane that came up a few years ago so that side of him needs to stop.

“As a player, yes, he looks to be very good and he had that brilliant loan spell with Blackburn a few years ago.

“You have to remember, Liverpool have signed Fabio Carvalho as well and he also looks to be a real, really good player.

“That is two really good, young, promising wingers coming through at Anfield. Match that with the club selling Neco WIlliams for £17milion to Nottingham Forest this summer.

“He is playing in a much more advanced role for them than he did for Liverpool.

Liverpool

From what I have seen, Elliott looks to be a really good player and it is great that he is getting opportunities at a big club like Liverpool.

“Klopp seems to love him so that is a pretty big indication of how good he is.”
