Pundit shares Eddie Howe ‘job’ claim after ‘huge’ Newcastle United development
Newcastle United will be hugely disappointed with last weekend’s loss to Brighton.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former West Ham striker Frank McAvennie said it is now down to Eddie Howe to pick the squad back up and move on.
Following their late defeat to Liverpool on matchday three, the Magpies were hoping to find some good fortune when they travelled to the AMEX to take on Brighton.

But a hattrick from youngster Evan Ferguson eliminated any chance of a win on the road and made it three losses on the bounce for the north east giants.
McAvennie insisted that Newcastle will need to forget about the poor run and get back to winning ways.
“It is a huge disappointment but the thing is they are going to have games like that, they are not ready yet,” he told Football Insider.
“I thought they would get to the Europa League last season, then the Champions League the year after and then the following year they would be challenging for the league.
“They are getting there quicker than what I thought and it seems as though it is getting into their heads that they are a good team and then all of a sudden something like that happens and it is a wake up call.

“It is about how you come back from that and that is what Eddie Howe’s job will be. They came down with a thump and it is down to him to pick them back up.
“They are where they are because every single player fights for one another and that did not happen against Brighton.“
