Pundit shares ‘massive’ Alexander Isak claim as ‘brilliant’ Newcastle United deal agreed
Alexander Isak is a “brilliant” signing and could score 15 goals for Newcastle United this season.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
On Friday (26 August), Newcastle confirmed the signing of Isak from Real Sociedad in a club-record deal.
The striker, 22, has been linked with numerous clubs, including Arsenal in January 2022.
Wenham is backing the hitman to bag between 10 and 15 goals in his debut Premier League season.
“It’s a statement signing,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I remember last season Arsenal were heavily linked with him. Their fans did their typical tracking flights and getting excited whenever he was in London, peak Arsenal fan behaviour.
“They were saying how he was a great signing for Arsenal. The fact Newcastle have gone out there and got him with the prime of his career still to come is brilliant work.
“He is getting good numbers in La Liga which is a top five league, he has a great physique as well. To me, it’s a very, very good signing.
“He is there with Callum Wilson who I also think is a very, very good Premier League striker when he isn’t injured.
“It’s a great move and I think he will really help them push on if he can get 10 or 15 goals for them, which is possible and would be a massive help to them.”
Isak joins the Magpies after scoring six La Liga goals in 32 appearances last season.
He was unable to make his debut against Wolves on Sunday (28 August) after his work permit did not arrive.
