Pundit shares ‘massive’ Erling Haaland claim after Man City source’s injury reveal
Pep Guardiola may begin to rest Erling Haaland in the Premier League with his eyes firmly set on winning the Champions League with Man City.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Guardiola’s plans.
Haaland, 22, has become a key player for Man City since joining the club in the summer, scoring 14 goals in 10 games.

Sources told Football Insider on 29 September that Man City are planning Haaland’s playing and training schedule to precision to prevent any injury issues.
The striker suffered with injury issues through his last season with Dortmund, limiting him to 30 appearances in all competitions.
McManus suspects Haaland will be rested in the Premier League so he can play in key Champions League games.
“I know they aren’t top but Man City are so strong in every department now they have Haaland,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“I just think that this season is the season where they will put all of their eggs in the Champions League basket.
“That is something they need to do, Pep wants to win it with Man City and they have spent an awful lot of money without winning it yet.
“Now they have Haaland, who I think they will look after because he’s massive for them. They might start saving him for those Champions League games so we will see less of him in the league.
“They should still have enough to win the league, don’t get me wrong.

“I just feel that now is the time they have to go and win it.
“I think if you offered Pep the Champions League or the Premier League then he would pick the Champions League which is why I think we will see his strongest team in that competition, not that Man City have a weak team.”
