Pundit shares ‘shocking’ Jurgen Klopp claim – Liverpool stars are ‘bored’
Tam McManus has claimed poor form at Liverpool could be the result of Jurgen Klopp’s Anfield reign becoming “stale”.
The former Hibernian striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the Merseysiders won’t “trouble anyone” for silverware in this campaign.
Liverpool fell to a surprise 1-0 loss away at Nottingham Forest on Saturday (22 October), meaning they occupy eighth place in the Premier League.
The 2020-21 champions have managed wins in just four of their first 11 top-flight games this season.
Klopp signed a new contract at Anfield earlier this year (28 April) which is set to keep him at the club until the summer of 2026.
Liverpool have enjoyed better form in the Champions League, winning three group games in a row after falling 4-1 away at Napoli in August.
However, McManus insisted Klopp’s side are “miles off” avenging last season’s Paris final defeat against Real Madrid.
He told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild: “It’s a shocking start.
“I’ve not been impressed with Nottingham Forest at all this season, I think they’ve looked poor – and this was a terrible result for Liverpool.
“I don’t know if it’s got a bit stale with Klopp, this is his seventh season. But when you’re at a club for that long, sometimes the players can get bored of one voice.

“I think they should get through their group in Europe – but they’re not going to trouble anyone this season in terms of winning trophies.
“Champions League, they’re miles off – and the same goes for the Premier League.“
