Pundit slams Jordan Henderson as Liverpool footage emerges – ‘trust me, the fans will forget you’
Jordan Henderson’s emotional goodbye video to Liverpool fans was “a lot of nonsense”.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former West Ham striker Frank McAvennie said Henderson will be forgotten in a few weeks following his move to Saudi Arabia.
The 33-year-old joined Steven Gerrard’s Al Ettifaq last week (27 July) on a three-year contract bringing an end to his 12-year spell at Anfield.
The former Reds captain shared a heartfelt goodbye message on his social media to Liverpool supporters after it was announced that he would be leaving the club.
Former West Ham star Declan Rice shared a similar video after he left his boyhood club for fellow Premier League side Arsenal.
Whilst former Celtic star Jota also paid tribute to the club and its fans after he made a sensational move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad.
When asked what he made of players sharing goodbye messages to their former clubs.
“It is a lot of nonsense,” he told Football Insider.
“Trust me the fans will forget you, you are gone now and they will move on to their new hero.
“I think he has done exceptionally well at Liverpool, he has won medals and trophies. He fell in love with Liverpool like anyone would when you play there.

“Declan Rice did the same, embarrassing, what a lot of nonsense. You should just do your talking on the pitch.
“Henderson will be forgotten about in a couple of weeks now that he is in Saudi.“
