Pundit slams Ryan Kent after what Josip Juranovic kept doing to him as Rangers crumbled against Celtic

Ryan Kent might be “fed up with Scottish football” after turning in a woeful performance as his Rangers side crumbled against Celtic.

That’s according to former Celtic hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after “another poor performance” from the attacker.

Kent, 25, played the full 90 minutes as Rangers lost 3-0 to Celtic on Wednesday (2 February).

This was the ninth time in 15 league games this season where Kent has failed to contribute a goal or an assist.

McAvennie has suggested there might be “something wrong” with Kent as his “bad season” continues.

“I don’t know if there’s something wrong with that boy [Kent],” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He looks fed up with Scottish football. Juranovic completely dominated him yesterday.

“I don’t know whether Juranovic won the first challenge and Kent’s head went down or what, but he didn’t fancy it.

“It was another poor performance. He’s having a bad season but I think he wasn’t at it yesterday because of how good Celtic were down that side.

“Juranvoic and Jota were all over them and Kent couldn’t get near them.

“Whenever he did have the ball Juranovic took it straight off him. He cut a frustrated figure and he wasn’t the only one.

“It’s just not happening for him at the moment. He is a quality player but things just aren’t going for him.”

Rangers

Rangers lost their lead at the top of the table thanks to Celtic’s win.

The Gers are next in action against Hearts on Sunday (6 February).
