Pundit slams Tottenham chief Daniel Levy after Harry Kane latest – ‘I don’t know what he’s playing at’
Tottenham owner Joe Lewis will not let Harry Kane leave Tottenham for free next summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former West Ham striker Frank McAvennie urged Spurs to sell Kane now or risk him signing a pre-contract with another club in January.
The 29-year-old has entered the final year of his Spurs contract and has been heavily linked with an exit.
The London club have already rejected two bids from Bayern Munich for the England international, with chairman Daniel Levy holding out for the £100million price point.
On Monday (24 July), Football Insider revealed that Bayern are preparing to submit a third bid for the striker worth nearly £100m.
McAvenenie can’t understand why Kane has not been permitted to move on, with his Spurs career effectively “done”.
“Harry is going into the last year of his contract, why is Daniel Levy not letting him go?” he told Football Insider.
“He [Levy] is going to shoot himself in the foot because Kane won’t sign a new contract and will then just sign for somebody in January and get them nothing.
“The fans will not accept that. They all love Harry Kane and they want him to stay, and Harry is a total professional so he will not let them down.

“He might be waiting to see what Ange is like and how they get on, what kind of manager he is.
“I do not know what Levy is playing at but I do not think the fans or the owner will be happy if Harry Kane walks out for nothing.“
