Pundit can’t believe what ‘Leeds fans’ are doing after ‘Sunday League’ reveal

Leeds United are playing like schoolboys at the moment and it is “kamikaze”, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker has been left baffled by Leeds’ tactics as they shipped 11 goals in their last two games.

In their 7-0 defeat to Man City last week (14 December) they conceded a 31 shots while Arsenal had 21 attempts on the Whites’ goal during their 4-1 win on Saturday (18 December), according to the BBC.

Opta revealed at the weekend (18 December), Arsenal’s 14 shots on target in the first half at Elland Road was the highest number they had recorded since their records began in the 2003-04 season.

“If you’ve got a lot of players injured, why would you go toe-to-toe with a top team like Arsenal who are in great form?” Agbonlahor asked Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“I don’t care what manager it is, a top manager will judge the game, the opposition and the squad he’s got available.

“With the squad they’ve got with the injuries, they can’t go toe-to-toe with teams. It doesn’t make sense, this is the Premier League.

“I’m baffled that there are fans clapping after the game. If I’m a Leeds fan, I would be fuming saying ‘Change your tactics, we’re getting pumped. All we do is pick the ball out of the back of the net’.

“You beat someone one-v-one with Leeds, you’ve got a shot on goal. In their last two games they’ve conceded over 50 shots on their goal.

“It was the record against Arsenal, 11 shots-on-target and you’re at home! Honestly, it’s Sunday league football, kamikaze.

“It’s like when you watch kids play in the playground where everybody chases the ball and wants to score. It’s not elite coaching, not at all.”
