Pundit suggests Christian Pulisic ‘problem’ after Newcastle United latest
Newcastle United should be wary of Christian Pulisic’s attitude.
That’s according to former West Ham striker Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Pulisic’s links with a move to St James’ Park.
According to the Mirror (11 December), Chelsea’s asking price for the 24-year-old will be around £40million but the Magpies are hopeful they can knock down the fee.
The winger played a key role for the USA in their impressive World Cup run and could be persuaded of a move to Newcastle with the promise of regular first team football.
Pulisic has started just three league games for Graham Potter’s side this season but has regularly featured as a substitute.
His Stamford Bridge contract runs until 2024 but could leave the London club as early as January.
When asked if the Magpies would be willing to pay Chelsea’s asking price, McAvennie told Football Insider: “I do not think there will be a problem with that.
“The problem will be whether he’ll go to Newcastle at this moment in time.

“He is not really getting a game at Chelsea. Why is he not getting a game there? Maybe it is because he can’t hack the Premier League.
“He did well at the World Cup but he can’t do that at Chelsea. Does he have an attitude problem or can he just not play in the Premier League? You have got to be careful of that.“
