Pundit suggests Liverpool ‘fear’ after what he’s seen – ‘it’s gone’
Alan Hutton has claimed teams no longer fear Liverpool.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender urged the Reds to get back to a place where teams will be fearful of coming up against them by working hard off the pitch.
Jurgen Klopp’s side recorded their first league win of 2023 with a 2-0 victory over Merseyside rivals Everton on Monday (13 February).
The Reds are now ninth in the Premier League table with 32 points from 21 games.
They are nine points adrift of fourth-placed Newcastle United who are clinging on to a potential Champions League spot for next season.
When asked where the problems at Anfield are coming from, Hutton told Football Insider: “They do not really press as much from the front which means they are not winning the ball high up the pitch.
“They used to create hundreds of chances and they are not really getting that at this moment in time. That is probably because confidence is low. It is just not the same team as it used to be.
“I think working on the training pitch day in, day out to try and improve even little margins.

“When you see them playing it seems like the fear factor is gone from Liverpool. Not all the way but teams really feared Liverpool when they were at their height.
“They knew that they were going to get pressed and they were going to be aggressive and it would be a real struggle. They need to try and get back to that a little bit.“
