Pundit suggests when Anthony Gordon could quit Everton – ‘they’re talking £60m’
Alan Hutton has told Anthony Gordon to stay at Everton despite interest from Tottenham.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs right-back insisted Gordon would struggle for game time under Antonio Conte and does not see a reason for him to leave Goodison Park just yet.
According to football.london (20 November), the Lilywhites are continuing to monitor the 21-year-old’s situation ahead of the January window.
The London club attempted to capture the youngster alongside Richarlison in the summer window but were only able to bring the Brazilian to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Gordon still has three years left on his contract with the Toffees and they are believed to have set his price tag as high as Richarlison’s meaning he could cost upwards of £60million.
But Hutton has suggested now is not the right time for a move.
“There is no getting away from his potential,” he told Football Insider.
“He has definitely come onto the scene and shown everybody what he is capable of. I think they were talking £60m plus which is a lot of money.
“Is he going to go to Tottenham and be a regular starter? I do not think so at this moment in time. Obviously he could in the near future.

“It is a lot of money to outlay when you know who is already there. From Everton’s point of view he is one of their best players. If they are going to do anything this season they need to keep hold of him.
“He is very young, I do not really see the reason to jump ship at this moment in time. He can stay where he is, play the minutes that he needs to become better and then possibly move on.”
