Pundit suggests when Nathan Patterson will re-join Rangers as new details emerge
Nathan Patterson could join Rangers if he is not a regular starter at Everton next season.
That’s according to former Celtic striker Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Patterson’s potential return to Ibrox.
The 21-year-old was part of the Gers’ title winning 2020-21 season before joining Everton in January this year.
The right-back has made ten league appearances for the Toffees this season and has started all but two of those games.
As quoted by the Daily Record (11 December), the Scotland international said he has “unfinished business” at Ibrox and would “love” to return.
When asked if Patterson could move back to Glasgow in the near future, McAvennie told Football Insider: “It depends if he gets a game for Everton.
“I think this season he will be in and out but I think he will be a regular next season. I think he is a good player.
“When you go down to England the first thing they do is get you fitter. They build you up. They do that with a lot of Scottish players, you just do not see them for a few months.
“They have been getting him fit and strong so that nobody is going to push him off the ball.

“He loves Rangers but I do not think he is talking about now, or next year. I think he is talking about in a few years once he has a really good name for himself down in England and it will be time to come home.
“I do not think he is talking about now because he will definitely be in the Everton team next season.“
