Pundit ‘surprised’ by Sky update update on West Ham bid for Armando Broja
Armando Broja would be a “very succesful signing” for West Ham and £30million would be a “very good price”, according to Noel Whelan.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Premier League and England Under-21s forward claimed Broja has proven he is Premier League quality and would only get better at West Ham.
Football Insider first reported during the winter transfer window (24 January) that the 20-year-old was a target of West Ham and they were lining up a move.

Sky Sports reported this week they are now ready to make a £30million bid for the Chelsea striker who was on loan at Southampton during the 2021-22 season.
“They’ve not really replaced [Sebastien] Haller since they let him go,” Whelan told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“That’s been one area that you look at and go ‘You need a natural centre-forward’. As much as Antonio has adapted to that role and been fantastic with a good goal ratio last season, we did see his form drop off at the back end of last season because he is the only out-and-out striker that they have.
“You need an option, I’m surprised it’s taken them so long to replace Haller. At the same time, you want to wait for the right person.
“Broja’s proven that he can do it in the Premier League after a good successful season at Southampton.

“He’s a player with strength, can run in behind, hold the ball up and scores all different types of goals.
“With the service that he will get from the wide areas at West Ham, I think he would be a very successful signing and £30million would be a very good price for him.”
In other news, West Ham have tabled a bid for a Leeds United player.
