Pundit: This may be real reason for Kane rebellion after 'shock' update via Sky
Alan Hutton has suggested a breakdown in talks with Daniel Levy has led to Harry Kane going on strike at Tottenham.
The former Spurs defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed something must have happened behind closed doors for the “shock” turn of events to occur.
As reported by Sky Sports (August 3rd), Kane has failed to report to training for two successive days amid speculation over his future.
It is said Kane, who is contracted until 2024, believes he had a gentleman’s agreement with Levy.
As revealed by Football Insider in April, Kane told friends he was “hell bent” on quitting the club this summer.
Hutton suggested talks between the striker and Levy had not gone as expected for Kane to take such action.

Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “Obviously I didn’t expect it. I think it’s probably a shock to everybody when they heard he hadn’t reported back for training.
“You don’t expect Harry Kane to do something like that, really. It kind of tells me something has happened.
“I’ve heard a lot about this gentleman’s agreement he had with the Chairman. That he signed a new contract and a club came in and offered maybe a certain amount, he would allow him to go if the fee was accepted.
“That hasn’t happened and he feels now that he probably has to take a stance. I just feel something’s gone on in the background for him to take this stance.
“I just feel that something’s happened or he would have been in training. If talks had gone well with Daniel Levy behind the scenes, he would have been in training.
“He would be waiting for things to go through but that has not happened.”
