Pundit tips ‘animal’ Kane for Tottenham U-turn after Nuno comments
There is “no doubt” Tottenham star Harry Kane will “get into his stride” soon after his latest scoring blank, according to Noel Whelan.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, threw his weight behind the 28-year-old, who played the full 90 minutes of Wednesday’s 1-0 League Cup win against Burnley.
As quoted by Football.london after Tottenham were defeated by West Ham 1-0 on Sunday (October 24th), manager Nuno Espirito Santo said he doesn’t think his side are lacking in creativity.
He insisted the north London side “have enough creativity with our full-backs, our attackers” in response to a journalist’s question about the lack of service to Kane and Heung-min Son.
Whelan claimed Tottenham could still be adjusting to the appointment of Nuno, insisting “it doesn’t happen overnight”.
“They were beaten by the better side against West Ham,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“We’re not seeing enough service up to Harry Kane. He doesn’t seem the same player as last season, we’ve not seen the best of him, that’s for sure.
“I think there’s more to come from him.
“They don’t seem to be clicking like they were last season, that’s the biggest thing.
“Sometimes it takes teams a while to get into the rhythm of what the new manager is asking of them, it doesn’t just happen overnight.
“There’s no doubt he’ll get into his stride soon, we know what he’s like – he’s an absolute animal in front of goal when he’s on form.
“But he’s not getting the volume or quality of chances he was getting last season.”

Kane has netted just once in eight games in the Premier League this season, scoring with a chipped finish against Newcastle.
The England star has seven goals from 13 matches in all competitions, but six of those have come against weaker opponents in Europe and the League Cup.
