Pundit tips Tottenham to ‘compete’ with Man City and Liverpool as ‘huge’ Paratici plans reported
Noel Whelan has claimed Tottenham could start to push Liverpool and Manchester City with an overhaul of their recruitment system.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested Antonio Conte could be the driving force that transforms Spurs.
As reported by football.london (18th November), managing director Fabio Paratici and technical performance director Steve Hitchen are conducting an overhaul of the club’s scouting network.

The duo are reportedly working to revolutionise their talent identification setup to bring it in line with football’s elite.
The report states there will be increased investment in the scouting team.
That will include the creation of numerous new recruitment roles set to be created.
Whelan told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “Conte has been at big clubs all his career.
“He’s seen how things work and what he wants. Recruitment at a football club is huge and it’s huge that Paratici gets it right. You’re spending money hoping that it’s going to be fruitful and the players coming in are going to be successful.
“You’ve got to build a squad, it’s like a jigsaw. Conte is not going to do things all at once. It will be little pieces put into it until he gets that big picture that he wants.
“This helps him build that team knows can go out there to compete and push the likes of Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool.
“That relationship between manager, sporting director and scouting network has got to be bang on right.

“We have seen a few players come into the club that probably were not good enough at the time.
“They’ve got every little bit right now at that football club. Now they’ve got the manager, success has to come off the back of him.”
