Pundit verdict on Leicester City sacking Brendan Rodgers after £10m reveal
Alan Hutton has suggested there will be “grumblings” in the background at Leicester City over Brendan Rodgers’ future.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Tottenham and Aston Villa defender said the “pressure is going to mount” for the Foxes boss if his team’s performance does not improve.
The East Midlands club were beaten 5-2 by Brighton on Sunday (4 September).
Leicester are yet to win a Premier League game so far this season.
Speaking to the BBC (5 September), Rodgers said the recent poor results are “down to him”.
The Foxes boss added that he takes responsibility for the poor start to the season but will focus on trying to build the confidence of his players back up.
According to the Daily Mail (5 September), the ex-Liverpool man would be paid at least £10million in compensation if he is sacked.
When asked by Football Insider if the sack could be near for Rodgers, Hutton said: “It is difficult, he’s been very public in speaking about not getting enough bodies through the door.

“The recruitment hasn’t been great for them, other teams have been hovering about trying to pick off their players which isn’t helping. Of course when you go through five or six games, you haven’t won yet and you’re at the bottom of the league, you’ve just been beaten by five goals, it’s not ideal.
“You can tell that there’s grumblings going on in the back from different sides so he’s in a sticky situation at this moment in time. If he doesn’t get that win soon then obviously the pressure is going to mount, that’s just what happens when you’re in this league. I’m pretty sure he’ll be feeling the pressure as we speak.“
