Pundit verdict on Liverpool paying ‘massive’ Moises Caicedo fee after source’s update
Liverpool will have to pay a “massive” fee to lure Moises Caicedo away from Brighton this month.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Reds’ need for a new midfielder.
On 7 January, sources told Football Insider that Caicedo has told friends he would jump at the chance to join Liverpool.

The defensive midfielder, 21, has emerged as a target for the Merseysiders as they step up their January signing plans.
However, Brighton have no plans this month to sell the Ecuador international, who they value around the £45million mark.
McManus admits it will be hard for the Reds to agree a deal this month.
“He’s only just come into the Brighton team but he has been very, very good once he got in there,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“Is he Liverpool standard? He could be, in a few years’ time. He’s 21 and just in the country, it would be a big risk and Brighton will be looking for top dollar.
“You would have to say, £50million? It’s a big profit for Brighton in a very short space of time, they really know what they are doing down there.
“I do think he would do well at Liverpool and they do have the money to make that happen, so you can never rule it out.

“He gives them something different, he’s legs in the middle of the park and we know that is what Liverpool need.
“It would take a massive offer for Brighton to sell this window, of that, I’m sure.”
