Pundit verdict on Man United axing Aaron Wan-Bissaka after new development
Alan Hutton has urged Man United to keep hold of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa right-back suggested United won’t recoup the money they paid for him at the moment.
According to talkSPORT (11 January), the Red Devils are interested in Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters, 25, as a potential replacement for Wan-Bissaka.
Walker-Peters is believed to be pushing for a move away from St Mary’s after stalling on signing a new deal.
Wan-Bissaka’s deal runs until 2024 but could be allowed to leave this month.
When asked if Walker-Peters would be a good replacement for Wan-Bissaka, Hutton told Football Insider: “Me right now, I would not do it.
“Wan-Bissaka was nowhere to be seen. Erik ten Hag has come in, he has given him an opportunity with [Diogo] Dalot being out and I think he has done really well.
“He has shown exactly what he is all about. Going forward is where he needs to improve, defensively I think he is one of the best best one v one defenders.
“They paid a lot of money for him, I do not think they will get that back at this moment in time. Given his recent performances, I would not swap him.“

Wan-Bissaka has made six Premier League appearances for United so far this season.
The defender has started five games under Ten Hag and has been a key member of the XI since the end of the World Cup break.
