Pundit verdict on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang signing for Everton after source’s reveal

Alan Hutton has insisted Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would not fit in at Everton.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Premier League defender questioned whether Aubameyang still has the desire to work hard.

On 4 February, Football Insider revealed that Everton are eyeing a potential out-of-window move for the 33-year-old who has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

The Merseysiders are keen to sign a free agent forward after losing out on multiple attacker signings in January.

The Gabon international has come onto Sean Dyche’s radar after he was axed from the Blues’ 25-man Champions League squad.

Although he has 18 months left on his contract at Stamford Bridge, Aubameyang could look to terminate his current deal making him available as a free agent.

Hutton insisted Everton would not be the right move for the striker.

When he came to Chelsea I thought that it would fit because they needed a number nine and he is a goalscorer,” he told Football Insider.

But it has not really worked out for him. He relied on his pace for a long period of time, it looks like he has maybe lost a yard.

Does he still have that willingness to work hard? I think you need that if you are going to play for Sean Dyche. I do not really see that as a fit.

Others might just because he can score goals. But you look at the Everton players at the weekend and they all worked so hard. Does Aubameyang fit into that? I am not so sure.
