Pundit ‘expects’ Leeds to complete first January signing by Sunday night
Leeds United need to get their transfer business done early to avoid disappointment on deadline day.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about a quiet first week of the transfer window at Elland Road.
Football Insider first revealed last month that Marcelo Bielsa’s side are in the market for two midfielders in January.

A Leeds source told Football Insider (23 December) that the club are lining up a move for Reading star John Swift, 26, and have updated to reveal they are still monitoring his situation.
Kenny insists Leeds need to “get a move on” or risk losing out on players at the end of the window.
“Leeds need bodies,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“That being said, January is always a difficult month to operate in.
“We have seen clubs get ripped off and lose out because they are so desperate to get new players in.
“I think Leeds need to take a measured approach but at the same time they are desperate for more players.
“To be honest I expected someone to arrive during this first week but obviously that hasn’t happened yet. It could still happen.
“They had a good win last weekend and they are pushing away from the bottom three.
“But with how Newcastle are spending, there is every chance Leeds could be dragged back in if they don’t get a move on and sign some players.”

Leeds beat Burnley 3-1 on 2 January and now sit 16th in the table.
They are next in action against West Ham in the FA Cup on Sunday (9 January).
