Radu Dragusin shares new injury update to Tottenham fans

Radu Dragusin shared a positive update on his recovery as he continues to work his way back from a season-ending injury.

Dragusin has been sidelined since February after suffering an ACL tear and will play no further part in the campaign.

It’s been a frustrating season for the defender, who had just begun to earn more regular minutes under Ange Postecoglou before the setback.

Postecoglou himself has come under pressure at Tottenham during a underwhelming campaign, but persistent injury issues throughout the squad, including Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Dragusin, have made consistency difficult to find.

As Spurs prepare for their Europa League semi-final second leg against Bodo/Glimt, Dragusin gave supporters a glimpse into his recovery progress, offering some reassurance about his long-term fitness.

Radu Dragusin shares positive recovery milestone after long-term injury

The defender gave supporters an encouraging update on his recovery with a video posted to his Instagram story, showing him running on a pitch for the first time since surgery.

He captioned it: “Today was a good day. Running again, that feeling hits different. 12 weeks post-op.”

Tottenham fans had previously described the team as “cursed” when Dragusin suffered his injury, which only added to an already lengthy list of absentees.

In response, the club moved quickly in the market, bringing in Kevin Danso on loan to bolster their defensive options amid growing concerns.

Dragusin had become a more important figure in the squad this season due to the injuries around him, making 28 appearances in all competitions and starting 14 Premier League matches.

Ange Postecoglou may walk away from Tottenham despite Europa League run

When Dragusin returns to action, it could be under a different manager. Despite Tottenham’s impressive Europa League campaign, their domestic form has been concerning with just two wins in their last ten league games have seen them fall to 16th in the Premier League table.

Football Insider revealed on 2 May that Postecoglou could still be in charge next season if he delivers the club a major European trophy by winning the Europa League.

However, former Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson suggested that Postecoglou might choose to walk away from the role regardless, believing that lifting the trophy could allow him to leave the club on his own terms – having silenced many of his critics along the way.
