Raheem Sterling slammed ‘worst signing’ of Arteta’s career – Arsenal fans react
Raheem Sterling has been named the “worst signing” of Mikel Arteta’s career by Arsenal fans after his first start for the club.
The 29-year-old is on a season-long loan at the club from Chelsea, but he was unable to make much of an impact against Southampton.
The Gunners came from a goal behind to defeat the Saints 3-1 as Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli, and Bukayo Saka got on the scoresheet at the Emirates Stadium.
Sterling was brought off in the 60th minute by Arteta as Martinelli came on to get himself on the scoresheet.
The winger has only played 26 minutes of Premier League football before this game, being a fringe player in the squad since making the move across London.
However, Arsenal fans were not impressed by what they saw from the experienced winger when he was given the chance to start.
Arsenal fans were furious with Raheem Sterling’s performance
The Gunners fans claimed that Sterling’s performance was “rank” while others stated he was “dreadful.”
