Exclusive: Bruce suggests Spurs to 'Raise a few eyebrows' with deal they're negotiating

Alex Bruce has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur could “raise a few eyebrows” by signing Norwich City full-back Max Aarons this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Ipswich Town defender praised the 20-year-old for his performances for Norwich City this season, and suggested that he has the potential to become a top talent.

As revealed by Football Insider, Spurs have ramped up their interest in the versatile defender recently, and are primed for talks over a potential deal when the transfer market reopens.

And Bruce believes that the youngster has more than enough ability to thrive at a club of that calibre.

Speaking to Football Insider, he said: “Tottenham do need to strengthen at full-back.

“You can understand them doing that, and he fits the bill. He’s had a good season, he’s athletic, he’s young. He’s impressed me whenever I’ve seen him play.

“He bombs up and down that touchline. He’s a typical, modern full-back.

“He’s a good age, and although Norwich have struggled this season, he’s been one of their shining lights.

“He’s a decent player, and one who could raise a few eyebrows and convince a fews clubs to have a little punt on him because he’s got all the attributes to be a really good full-back. He’d be a good acquisition.”

Aarons has been a first team regular for Norwich this season, featuring in 27 of the Canaries’ 29 Premier League outings to date.

He has recorded two assists over the course of those appearances.
