Kieran Maguire salutes Rangers announcement amid ‘£60m’ finance claim
Rangers will likely generate around £60million in revenue this season and deserve credit for directing some of that to the people of Ukraine.
That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the reigning Scottish champions’ charitable efforts.
Rangers confirmed on Tuesday (15 March) that they have donated £87,000 to support those affected by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

That figure is made up of £72,000 worth of contributions from players, staff, and directors as well as a further £15,000 from the club itself.
Rangers are into the last eight of the Europa League after a 4-2 aggregate win over Red Star Belgrade was confirmed on Thursday (17 March).
And Maguire claims that their on-pitch fortunes have put them in a position where they are able to give to charitable causes.
“This has come from people within the club as well as the club itself,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“All contributions towards what is happening in Ukraine should be applauded.
“In the context of Rangers, they have been successful in Europe, which has improved their coffers.
“They are likely to generate somewhere close to £60m this season. All money going to this cause is going in the right direction.
“It would be difficult if rival fans choose this as an opportunity to knock the club. Humanitarian considerations should override tribalism.”

Rangers posted a £23.5m loss on revenues of £64m for the 2020-21 financial year.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s 2nd-place side came from 1-0 down to win 2-1 at Dundee today (20 March).
In other news, Rangers chiefs must have something up their sleeve after Celtic twist update.
