Rangers are close to sealing the signings of Motherwell attacker Jack Hastie and Birmingham City playmaker Greg Stewart, Football Insider understands.
Football Insider revealed on Saturday that Hastie was set to spurn interest from multiple English clubs to sign for the Glasgow giants after agreeing the terms of a four-year contract.
A Rangers source has told Football Insider that the club are also in advanced negotiations to recruit Stewart, 29, on a pre-contract and beat Derby County and his loan club Aberdeen to his signature.
Both Hastie and Stewart will be free agents at the end of the campaign and this has alerted Rangers and their director of football Mark Allen, who negotiated the signings of Scott Arfield and Allan McGregor at a similar time last year just as their contracts at Burnley and Hull City were closet to expiring.
Hastie has made a big impact for Stephen Robinson’s side, netting seven goals in 14 games, with six of those strikes coming in league fixtures.
The ‘Well manager indicated at the end of last week he set to lose the Scotland Under-21 international and dropped him from the starting XI for his side’s 1-1 weekend draw against Hamilton.
Stewart has directly contributed to 19 goals and assists for loan clubs Aberdeen and Kilmarnock this season.
In other Rangers transfer news, it can be REVEALED that the club are in talks to terminate the contract of a £20,000-a-week Ibrox player.
