Rangers could sanction Alfredo Morelos exit after confirmed news – pundit

Frank McAvennie is adamant Rangers would sell Alfredo Morelos if an offer came in.

However, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Celtic striker suggested no offer has been made for the 26-year-old Colombia international.

Rangers confirmed (8 July) the signing of Tom Lawrence, 28, alongside Antonio Colak, 28, from PAOK.

Colak made his first start for Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side in a preseason friendly against Sunderland.

The two forwards become Rangers’ second and third signings of the summer following the arrival of John Souttar from Hearts.

When asked if the new signings could pave the way for Morelos’ exit, McAvennie told Football Insider: “I think Morelos is an enigma.

I think if somebody came in with an offer for him he wouldn’t be there but I do believe there’s no offers.

The manager is not going to hang about for him. He’s a good player, but he’s got to do it week in week out.

He’s adored in half of Glasgow, he’ll not get that anywhere else. Adored by half and hated by the other half, but you’ve got to get used to it.

I think the manager will have a look at the two new forwards. If an offer comes in for Morelos he won’t be there.

Morelos played 42 games for Rangers across all competitions last season.

Despite an injury which saw the striker sidelined for the second half of the season, he scored 19 goals and provided eight assists.
