Rangers could seal deal for Alfredo Morelos replacement after report from Italy – Hutton
Alan Hutton has claimed Rangers would only sign Patrick Cutrone if Alfredo Morelos leaves the club.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Gers defender suggested Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s priority will be to keep Morelos, 26, at the club while Cutrone, 24, will be their “plan B.”
According to Italian outlet Calicomercato (22 July), Rangers are leading the race to sign Wolves forward Cutrone.

The former Italy international has 12 months remaining on his contract at Molineux but has spent the last three seasons out on loan.
The Ibrox club are said to be in pole position to sign the forward, with Celta Vigo interested.
Hutton suggested that the Gers’ next steps hinge on the future of Morelos.
“There’s no doubt that he’s a decent player,” he told Football Insider.
“He was obviously at Wolves didn’t quite work out for him there. But he’s played at a high standard.
“This goes back to Alfredo Morelos. If he was to go then maybe they would bring somebody like that in, somebody with that experience, I think he does tick that box.

“Ideally, I think Giovanni van Bronckhorst would want Morelos to stay therefore he wouldn’t have to go into the market for anybody else.
“He knows what he’s getting with what he has and I think he’d be quite happy with his options up front. So that’s maybe plan B, plan A is signing a contract for Alfredo.“
