Sheyi Ojo's time at Rangers has come to an end and he has marked the occasion with a gushing social media message to the club's supporters.

Sources have said that the winger has been told that his Rangers spell formally ends when his contract expires at the end of this month.

Ojo has been back down south for some time after indications of Gerrard and the club's stance.

The 22-year-old was unable to match the impact of fellow Liverpool academy product Ryan Kent in his loan season.

Kent ended with the Scottish young player of the year award and returned a few months as the club's second most expensive ever signing after a £7million permanent deal was agreed.

Ojo has had some fine moments and a permanent move was a genuine possibility back in the autumn when the left footer made a promising start in Glasgow.

But he failed to develop into the consistent matchchanger that Gerrard and his coaching staff had hoped he would.

By the time of the mid-March lockdown, Ojo. was a fringe member of the side and he had struggled to even make the bench following the January arrivals of fellow loanees Ianis Hagi and Florian Kamberi.

Ojo has a creditable record for the Light Blues, with his 36 appearances in all competitions yielding five goals and seven assists.

But the young attacker, who has also had loan spells at Reims, Wolves, Wigan Athletic and Fulham, is now heading back to Liverpool.
