Rangers expert: Alfredo Morelos has ‘something in the pipeline’ after source’s new talks reveal
Alan Hutton has suggested there may be “something in the pipeline” for Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender said he is still “on the fence” over whether he wants Morelos to stay at Ibrox.
The 26-year-old’s current contract expires in the summer after joining from HJK Helsinki in 2017.
On 2 March, Football Insider revealed that the Gers have offered the Colombian a new deal and remain in talks over a potential extension.
As quoted by the Sun (12 March), Michael Beale said he needs to see “a little bit more” from the striker in order to earn a new contract but insisted he is “free” to speak to other clubs.
Morelos has made 37 appearances for the Light Blues across all competitions this season and has scored ten goals and provided six assists in those outings.
When asked about whether he wants to see the forward stay in Glasgow, Hutton told Football Insider: “I am still on the fence.
“I know he is a good player, we know that he is a goalscorer and that he has got it within him. I just think that recently, his body language, everything just does not seem to be on it at this moment in time.

“Whether that is because he knows that something is in the pipeline, we will have to wait and see.
“But it is going to be a really interesting summer moving forward for Rangers.“
