Rangers expert blown away by what Jack Butland has just said – ‘They’ve got a big name in’
Jack Butland wanted to stay at Rangers in the January transfer window as he “wants to be a part” of the club moving forward.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Gers and Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton was blown away by the goalkeeper’s comments where he revealed that he was not tempted by an approach from a Premier League side.
The Englishman’s exceptional performances this season have been a major factor in Rangers’ impressive resurgence under Philippe Clement.
He has started every league game for the club this season and has helped them to the best defensive record in the Scottish top flight having conceded just 16 goals in 29 games.
Jack Butland has seen “what Rangers is all about”
Hutton claimed that Butland, after seeing what the club “is all about”, is set for a long stretch with the Glasgow giants.
“His comments really fill me with confidence,” he told Football Insider.
“Rangers have really put a lot of faith in Butland, especially after Allan McGregor left and the uncertainty over who was going to fill that void.
“They’ve got a big name in with a lot of experience.
“He’s stood up to be counted whenever he’s been needed.
“He’s come up here and seen what Rangers is all about.
“The European football, the atmosphere at Ibrox and then winning a trophy.

“He wants to be a part of this moving forward and I think it’s a really good fit for him.
“I’m not surprised that he was not interested in a move in January.”
