Rangers expert drops ‘dangerous’ claim after what he spotted against PSV Eindhoven

PSV Eindhoven are going to be “very dangerous” against Rangers on Wednesday night (30 August).

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Gers defender Alan Hutton is “nervous” about the away leg of the fixture after what he’s seen from PSV last week and throughout the season.

Despite going a goal ahead twice at Ibrox in the opening leg of their Champions League qualifier last week, the Light Blues were held to a draw by the Dutch side.

The sides met at the same stage of the European competition last term where the first leg ended in the same scoreline, when the Gers travelled to Eindhoven, they ran out 1-0 winners and progressed to the group stages of the competition.

Rangers went on to have a torrid group stage campaign where they failed to earn a single point.

When asked how he was feeling ahead of Wednesday’s game, Hutton told Football Insider:I am still nervous.

I think PSV are a better team than they were last time round. I think they have got more quality within their ranks but I thought Rangers did really well last week.

Rangers

Obviously they were at home with the crowd behind them, they got their noses in front twice and were really unlucky in the last ten, 15 minutes that they could not go and nick it. They had some really good chances, [Rabbi] Matondo, [Sam] Lammers had an effort as well.

I have seen enough of PSV to know that they are going to be very dangerous. I am a little bit nervous but I would definitely take the same result as last year.
